Insight M Welcomes Karl Kurz to Board of Directors

Insight M is proud to announce that Karl Kurz, a seasoned executive with over 40 years of distinguished experience in the oil and gas industry, has joined our Board of Directors. Karl’s unparalleled expertise and proven leadership reflect our unwavering commitment to delivering pragmatic methane solutions that empower our customers to succeed by reducing emissions and maximizing operational efficiency.

Throughout his illustrious career, Karl has been at the forefront of the energy sector, driving innovation and operational excellence. As Chief Operating Officer at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, he led global exploration, production, marketing, midstream, and engineering services, shaping the company’s strategic direction and operational success. His leadership in these critical areas underscores his deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the oil and gas industry.

Beyond Anadarko, Karl has held numerous influential roles, including Managing Director and Co-Head of the Energy Group at CCMP Capital Advisors, LLC, where he focused on buyouts and growth equity investments in large-scale companies. As an operating adviser with Ares Capital, he provided strategic support for energy transactions, further solidifying his reputation as a trusted leader in the industry. Karl’s early career at ARCO Oil & Gas Company laid a strong foundation in upstream, marketing, and midstream operations, demonstrating his comprehensive expertise across the energy value chain.

Karl’s extensive board experience further highlights his leadership and governance capabilities. He currently serves on the public boards of Devon Energy, Texas Pacific Land Corp, and American Water Works, where he is the non-executive independent Chairman of the Board. His prior board roles include Western Gas Partners, WPX Energy, and the Natural Gas Supply Association, among others. This broad perspective enables Karl to offer strategic insights that align with Insight M’s mission to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions.

Academically, Karl holds a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University, magna cum laude, and is a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program. His technical expertise, strategic vision, and dedication to excellence are key assets as Insight M continues to lead the field in methane emissions management.
